Malossi cast iron cylinder kits, the first and simplest step in modifying your moped engine, are the optimal choice for continuing to use a standard or type-approved exhaust system.

In these cylinder kits, the characteristic high durability of cast iron is combined with Malossi's almost manic quality standards, one of the very few companies to demand the maximum even from this class of cylinder kits. This includes the extremely strict selections for the pairing between cylinder and piston, rigorously maintained within the band of 20 micron maximum tolerance.

The cylinder kit offers an increase in power and torque performance thanks to the new cast iron cylinder, which, while maintaining both the bore and the muffler connection technique unchanged, has benefited from a total redesign that has led to the complete replacement of the internal transfer ports, which now allows for optimal coupling not only with our crankcases, but also with the original ones. The assembly of these cylinder kits on the original crankcases, in fact, only requires re-boring the cylinder liner passage.

Compared to the previous version: the exhaust has been revised both in its geometries, reprofiled and dimensionally varied, and in its timing, which has been matched to the intake times; the intake transfer ports are perfectly symmetrical at the cylinder inlet and the flow path has a completely different orientation of the fresh gases at the chamber inlet. The big news is the rear transfer ports, which, subjected to a revision of the "fingernail" rear technique, now have an adequate inclination and, above all, a calculated progression of flow crossing areas. The union of the two rear ducts in the characteristic "H" shape allows for maximum exploitation of the pumping work, transferring the greatest possible energy with the least losses to the flows. These innovations result in greater uniformity of scavenging between the right and left sides, which leads to better combustion and, consequently, an incredible increase in the characteristic performance of two-stroke engines.
