The main spring of the rear movable pulley plays a significant role in adapting the variator assembly to the considerable power increase achievable with more extreme modifications. After installing particularly powerful transformation kits in terms of torque and power, the drive belt may slip, or the rear movable pulley may not be able to counteract the movement of the pulley of the assembly mounted on the crankshaft.
In these cases, it may be advantageous to increase the load of the main spring of the rear pulley; the supplied springs have a higher load than the standard spring:
10% BLUE (MaxiScooters), 7% WHITE (Scooters 50), 15% BLUE (Scooters 50).
However, please remember that the spring with increased load should only be installed when truly necessary; the best performance will always be obtained using the spring that, with the lowest load, allows for optimal power transmission. Springs with higher loads tend to trap the belt between the pulleys, thus increasing its wear and decreasing the transmission's efficiency. Before replacing the spring, check the wear status of the belt and the perfect functioning of the entire variator assembly.
MAIN SPRINGS WITH EVO SLIDER
During the variator's shifting excursion, the movable half-pulley (Speed Drive) slides axially and rotates around the fixed half-pulley, describing a rotation. This rotation imparts a torsion to the spring that is never constant. The EVO SLIDER, made of special anti-wear and self-lubricating material, allows the spring to slide consistently.
